Wall Painting and Test-Taking Technicalities…

February 20, 2005 at 12:30 AM

If you're wondering why I haven't been online much lately, it's because the rooms downstairs are still being worked on. My room's pretty much finished, but the downstairs living room still needs to be painted (Dad and Mom have been yelling at each other a lot while doing this, as Dad does not like to paint)...And it will be somewhat like the upstairs living room - Textured (the walls and ceiling have been plastered already), with a light tan color. As for the carpet in that room...I'm not sure what's going to be done about that yet.

Most of the stuff has been moved around in the living room so they could get their painting done...And right now, I have the couch in the kitchen =P

My Dad also called recently about my being ineligible for a job related to a Civil Service job test that I took late in January. It turns out that, even though I was told that I had the necessary experience and clearances for this job, I had to have my two years of training (the classes I took for my Associate's Degree) within a three year time limit...Which meant I couldn't get that job any later than mid-2004 (I started going to ITT Tech in June 2001, graduated with my Associate's Degree in June 2003, and took the test for this job late in January of this year), and that means Dad, Mom, and I all wasted a day down there for me to take a test for nothing >=(

On the other hand, they mentioned another job I could get (one where the above technicality doesn't apply, and that I can get if I pass), and I'll be taking the test for it in early March. Also, I might be called back to work at the Courthouse for the elections later this year, due to how good of a job I did during the Presidential Election =)

I've also done a bit more work on the template, and, except for some incompatibilities with IE (which I've worked around as much as I can at this point in time) it seems about ready, and I don't want to hold it up too much longer (as it's also holding me back from updating the site). If anyone here reading my blog has any suggestions for the template, or (especially) ways to fix the IE incompatibilies, please tell me.

...

That's all I have to say in this post =P
